Finance is the platform's accounting-and-cash slice: invoices receivable, expenses payable, reimbursements, fiscal-period closes. It sits next to the Invoice & AP app (which handles supplier invoices) - Finance is more about the broader ledger view, period closes, and the workflows around them.

Configure on day one
- Chart of accounts - import from your existing system or use the platform default (configurable per industry)
- Currencies - tenant-default + per-record overrides; FX rates auto-fetched daily from configurable source
- Fiscal periods - calendar vs custom (4-4-5, 13-period, etc.) - lock-once-set
- Approval thresholds - per-category, per-cost-center, per-amount; routes through HITL automatically
- RBAC v3 - Finance data is sensitive; default policies fence non-Finance roles to read-only on their own department's records
Period locks are enforced platform-wide once set - even agents cannot post to locked periods. Useful for SOX-style audit posture; tune via Admin Settings > Compliance > Period Locks.

Employee submits expense -> Categorizer assigns GL code -> Approver validates against policy -> manager approves in-app -> Reimbursement Approver bundles into the next reimbursement batch -> Finance hits Mark-Paid -> journal posts to ledger. Full audit trail at every step.
